An Inside Look at our Insiders Weekend

Tea Insiders
This past weekend, we invited 22 of our Tea Insiders to join us in San Francisco for a weekend of conversation, collaboration and lots of celebration. Our Tea Insiders is a group made up of Tea Collection’s nearest and dearest explorers. They share our brand values – spreading connection and curiosity through the lives of their family and friends, covet our new arrivals each season and aren’t ashamed to call themselves “Tea obsessed”. They flew in from all across the country (and Canada, too!) to spend time with us at our Studio Tea space. Over the course of 2 days, we shared some exciting news and we didn’t want you to miss out.

Learn How to Make Beignets!

img_6065_32745641281_oOver years of traveling across the world, we’ve been able to taste many different cuisines. Food is always important to the culture and history of a destination. Today, we’re sharing a recipe from France from our friend Carine Rosalia, a French-American mother and Tea customer.  Here, Carine shares her recipe (and photos of her daughter making them in Tea) with us.

Learn How to Do a Sunprint DIY

17SP2_E_G02_02Curiosity is a way of life. One of the biggest wonders of travel is the constant sense of discovery—and we love exploring and discovering with kids. On our catalog shoot in the Walkabout Wildlife Park an hour north of Sydney, we helped our friends learn how to make DIY sunprints. This easy, and inspiring, diy project can be made with anything you can find outside. Learn how you can make a sunprint too, at home with just a few supplies.

A Very Special Collaboration: The Warlukurlangu Artists of Yuendumo

Indigenous Tea Prints

This season, we celebrate and honor the indigenous people of Australia. When our designers traveled to Australia, they headed to Alice Springs, a remote town near Uluru (or Ayers Rock) a massive sandstone “red rock” monolith rising out of the earth. This area is called the Red Centre of the continent. Uluru is a part of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage area and a sacred place to the Aborigines. Our designers traveled north of Alice Springs to Yuendumo, where they were able to meet the Warlukurlangu artists. The art association is a non-profit organization that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the surrounding communities.

Meet the Kids Featured in Our Catalog!

We make globally inspired clothing for little citizens, and twice a year we travel to a new destination for inspiration, adventure and lots of photos of super cute kids decked out in our newest styles. This season, our collection comes all the way from Australia. We trekked across this wild, wonderful country with some awesome local children. From Sydney to the Outback, the rainforest to reefs, we explored, learned, made new friends and laughed (a lot) – plus, we got some great photos to share.

We believe in making connections across the street as well as across the world, and we also went to Austin, TX for a second spring/summer photoshoot. We held a casting call at our first ever pop-up shop at TOMS Roasting Co., and met tons of amazing little citizens and their families!

Adventures with Ranger Karen

“Alright, kids! Let’s get going. Remember, do everything I do. And make sure you walk around the emu poo!” And with that, Ranger Karen and her intrepid band of young explorers head off into the Aussie bush. Walkabout Wildlife Park, north of Sydney, is a wild and wonderful place where you can hang out with free-roaming wallabies and grey kangaroos, meet salty crocs and spiny echidnas and even pet a huge coastal carpet python named Yamba.

These Kids Love Tea!

#kidslovetea

We love seeing how our customers wear Tea. Real kids, doing real kid things like running through the yard, playing in dirt or having quiet moments at home. From your Instagram photo to the ones you upload through our Kids Love Tea gallery, it makes our day to see your little citizens, laugh, play and explore in Tea. In celebration of the weather warming up and being able to wear the newest spring styles (outside!), we partnered with Tea customers to see how they could wear our newest styles in their everyday life.
