We are thrilled to (once again!) announce our partnership with May Designs and give you an opportunity to cover notebooks, stationery, coloring books and cards in your favorite Aussie-inspired Tea prints. Here’s an inside look at the prints you can now shop and their corresponding styles!
Sydney is a city full of design inspiration. On their trip, our designers were inspired by the world around them, from the shapes and colors of the local architecture to the food, flowers, greenery and animals. They were also drawn to the work of Australian artists whose work they saw throughout the cities murals, museums and shops.
On the set of our spring catalog shoot in Australia, we planned to set up a table fit for a spring celebration. As we unpacked pillows, plates and everything in between, the kids couldn’t wait to get things ready. Excited for their party, they jumped in and had a blast helping get everything in place. The key to helpful little ones? Make prep fun! Here are some ideas on how to get your kids involved with party planning.
Curiosity is a way of life. One of the biggest wonders of travel is the constant sense of discovery—and we love exploring and discovering with kids. On our catalog shoot in the Walkabout Wildlife Park an hour north of Sydney, we helped our friends learn how to make DIY sunprints. This easy, and inspiring, diy project can be made with anything you can find outside. Learn how you can make a sunprint too, at home with just a few supplies.
“Alright, kids! Let’s get going. Remember, do everything I do. And make sure you walk around the emu poo!” And with that, Ranger Karen and her intrepid band of young explorers head off into the Aussie bush. Walkabout Wildlife Park, north of Sydney, is a wild and wonderful place where you can hang out with free-roaming wallabies and grey kangaroos, meet salty crocs and spiny echidnas and even pet a huge coastal carpet python named Yamba.
Australia is a land of diverse ecosystems. From animals to plants, climates to landscapes… As you travel through the vast country, it’s very possible that you’ll come across things you can’t find anywhere else.
Did you know, Australia has more than 378 kinds of mammals, 828 types of birds, 4,000 species of fish, 300 kinds of lizards, 140 types of snakes, 2 crocodile species and around 50 types of marine mammals? That’s a lot of animals. Being the animal lovers we are, Australia has opened our eyes to so many animals we had only dreamed of before. Our designers spent two weeks traveling the vast Australia landscape. And they were lucky to meet quite a few furry creatures. Meet our new friend Pepper, the koala and see lots of other animals we found in Australia.
