Behind the Design: Rio Gallegos Dress

IMG_1179This July, our collection is inspired by a road trip through Argentina and Bolivia and all we saw along the way. As we drove through Argentina, we were in awe of the ever changing landscapes and views. From the high peaks of the Andes Mountains in Bolivia to the vast plains of Argentina. As we neared the southern tip towards Patagonia, we stopped as this view of a valley in between a mountain range, took our breath away. These oxeye daisies sprang up among the rolling green hills and immediately caught our eye.

Introducing… Argentina & Bolivia!

At Tea, we travel the globe in search of inspiration, bringing the beauty of other cultures home with the hope of making the world a little smaller and the foreign a bit more familiar for all little citizens of the world.

For our Fall and Winter 2015 collection, we traveled to Argentina and Bolivia, and we can’t wait to share our stories with you! From the European flavor of Buenos Aires to the indigenous pride of La Paz, our newest collection pays homage to the people of Argentina and Bolivia. The sophisticated style of the gauchos and traditional elegance of Cholitas. The passion of tango musicians to the wild color of las mascaras for Carnaval. A whole new world awaits!

DIY Dip Dye

Our Atlantic Plaid Shirtdress from our Citizen Blue collection features an indigo dip dye that is inspired by the blues of the Atlantic Ocean. Along with many other dying techniques, dip dye has been around for many centuries. Dip dying is a relatively simple technique and creates a unique design that can be layered on top of prints and on a variety of silhouettes. It is a great way to give a stained dress or shirt a new life. Read on to learn how you can do it at home!

Nautical Styles For Your Explorer

15JUN_S_01_094

This June, we feature our Citizen Blue collection that draws on inspiration from travels on the sea. We put a spin on classic stripes with playful graphics or a bow tie. We were inspired by all things nautical like sand dollars, anchors, sea gull and submarines.  We envision our Tea little citizens putting on these fun styles and going out to the backyard to play pretend. Live by the seashore ? Take these styles for a spin on the boardwalk or for an afternoon sail!

Citizen Blue: The Sea Between

We’re excited to kickoff the summer with the launch of Citizen Blue – a semi-annual collection that celebrates the magical spots we stop along the way to somewhere else. Rooted in rich indigo hues, Citizen Blue revisits heritage Tea styles and favorite prints from places we’ve already been and offers new designs inspired by places we’ve seen only glimpses of. Citizen Blue is a voyager, a nautical nomad. Not quite here or there, the collection draws inspiration from the journey and all of the magical spots we stop along the way to our final destination. It is truly globally inspired. No matter the type of adventure you have planned this summer, our Citizen Blue collection is packed full of grab-your-suitcase-and-go styles for your little citizen.
