Venice is an otherworldly place. From the gilded gondolas and palaces that fill the Grand Canal to the architectural details of the buildings and footbridges connecting the city to its floating neighborhood islands. Venice thrives on mystery and awe. As you wander through the streets, it’s hard to miss the Venetian masks. These famous masks are a part the Carnival of Venice, an annual festival held in Venice typically held in February that marks the beginning of Lent. Similar events are held around the world, like Mardi Gras and Carnaval in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
Italian life centers around la famiglia (family). It’s a culture of great tradition and strong bonds, even when family members live across the ocean. This spring, we celebrate that family heritage with a story of Tea’s photo producer, Alexis, who traveled to northern Italy so her children could meet their Italian relatives. Here, she shares her story of a trip that will forever live on in their hearts.
Don’t let the name fool you, scientific florals are a true work of art. Inspired by renown children’s book illustrator, Vittorio Accornero, our newest spring print sets out to capture the magic of his signature style.
Twice a year, we pack our bags and set off to explore a new destination. We go there in search of inspiration for our new clothing collections and we hope that our globally inspired styles encourage kids to discover and celebrate the world around them. This spring, we go to enchanting Italy—and so can you!
We’ve partnered with family adventure tour company Tauck Bridges to give you and your family an opportunity to explore Italy the Tea way. Spend seven days in Rome and Sorrento, and discover the same sites, sounds and people our designers did on their journey. Learn more about the day-to-day activities you and your family could embark upon!
During our stay in Rome, we explored the cobblestoned streets just like a local would, by scooter! Zipping in and out of alleys and around cars was not only thrilling, but also the quickest way of getting from place to place. Vespas, scooters and motorbikes are everywhere in Rome. They truly are the locals choice of transportation. And who can blame them? As a nod to the vespas we hopped on in Rome, we hand-illustrated scooters for a few of our newest styles.
You know the saying… Rome wasn’t built in a day. Well, there’s no way you can truly experience all its splendor in just one day. In fact, you might need a few to get through our list of sites, adventures and food! If you happen to find yourself in Rome (or you’re just lusting from afar!), make sure to check out some of our favorite spots, hand-picked and vetted by our our designers, our co-founder and CEO, Leigh, and even kid tested by Leigh’s two boys, Adam and Matthew.
