With amazing views and a 12-foot-deep bowl, the Bondi Beach Skate Park in Sydney is any skater’s dream. The park got its start in 1991 as two skate ramps. The current incarnation was built in 2004 thanks in no small part to John Fox—a former skater who volunteers to take care of the grounds and keep the bowl tag-and trash-free. The park is painted swimming pool aqua blue in a nod to the dry backyard pools of Venice Beach, CA, that were the best place for young skaters to get their wheels under them back in the Dogtown days of the early 1970s—a scene that inspired Aussie skaters like Fox.

Behind the Scenes: Our Aussie Surf Camp
“Alright, everybody choose a leg!”
Down on Bondi Beach, the rain has cleared up, the waves are rolling in, and a tousled blonde Aussie named Jake stands in front of a row of eager young grommets (a grommet is a kid who surfs).
“Ok, everybody hop on your board and let’s practice,” Jake says as his co-coach Lucy moves in to help.
Before they ever hit the water, surf camp students straddle their boards on the sand and learn the basics of paddling, pushing up, standing up, and—most importantly—falling off. (The technical term is “dismount.”)
“Basically, you just starfish,” Jake throws out his arms, “and fall backward.”
An Inside Look at our Insiders Weekend
This past weekend, we invited 22 of our Tea Insiders to join us in San Francisco for a weekend of conversation, collaboration and lots of celebration. Our Tea Insiders is a group made up of Tea Collection’s nearest and dearest explorers. They share our brand values – spreading connection and curiosity through the lives of their family and friends, covet our new arrivals each season and aren’t ashamed to call themselves “Tea obsessed”. They flew in from all across the country (and Canada, too!) to spend time with us at our Studio Tea space. Over the course of 2 days, we shared some exciting news and we didn’t want you to miss out.
Meet the Kids Featured in Our Catalog!
We make globally inspired clothing for little citizens, and twice a year we travel to a new destination for inspiration, adventure and lots of photos of super cute kids decked out in our newest styles. This season, our collection comes all the way from Australia. We trekked across this wild, wonderful country with some awesome local children. From Sydney to the Outback, the rainforest to reefs, we explored, learned, made new friends and laughed (a lot) – plus, we got some great photos to share.
We believe in making connections across the street as well as across the world, and we also went to Austin, TX for a second spring/summer photoshoot. We held a casting call at our first ever pop-up shop at TOMS Roasting Co., and met tons of amazing little citizens and their families!

This fall, when it came to casting models for our catalogs, we skipped our usual agencies and instead, went to Japan! We wanted to connect and meet local families and we were thrilled to find such a mix of culture backgrounds. We met some pretty adorable and imaginative kids (and their parents too!). We had the chance to bring these families along with us to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and talk to them about their lives in Japan. Today we’d like to introduce them to you!
