Did you know a lot of our clothing is made in Peru? During their trip, our designers visited our factory in Lima and got an inside look into how Tea is made.
Our factory partners at ASA Textile Sourcing are responsible for producing all of our graphic tees and many of the dresses you know and love. They do everything from spinning and knitting the fabrics to packaging and washing the finished product.

ASA employs over a thousand workers and follows strict guidelines for fair and safe worker conditions. Having worked with ASA for almost five years, we’re proud to call them a trusted partner in our manufacturing process.
Fairy tales are believed only to exist in books, movies and our own imaginations. But take a peek behind the scenes of our enchanting holiday shoot, and you’ll find a Scottish wonderland where opulent castles and fairy tale adventures await.
We are makers. Twice a year, Tea designers pack their bags and set off to a new destination in search of inspiration. They immerse themselves in the culture and customs of foreign worlds, taking in all the sights, sounds, tastes and traditions, and seeking to make them familiar. What they come back with? A deep appreciation for the local people who preserve the country’s unique history, tell its stories, and practice its time-honored traditions.
They arrive back in our San Francisco headquarters with suitcases filled with unforgettable memories, experiences, and a genuine passion and understanding for this newfound place. Then they get to work, translating it all into globally inspired, thoughtfully-made clothing to be shared and experienced by little citizens everywhere.
Follow our talented team of designers to the rugged and remote Shetland Islands, where local artisans have been spinning and knitting virgin wools into colorful Fair Isle knits for centuries.
As summer comes to a close, and fall begins to breathe a sigh of cool relief, we leave behind the hustle and bustle of Glasgow and head for quieter, cozy pastures. From windswept highland farms to the far-flung isles of the Outer Hebrides, to the northernmost Shetland Islands, our newest styles draw inspiration from Scotland’s rural (coastal and countryside) regions.
Scotland sets the backdrop for our back-to-school collection. It’s a magical land of breathtaking landscapes and mythical creatures, with a story as colorful as iconic Fair Isle patterns. Come along with us as we trek from highlands to islands, exploring every corner of this charming country.
Here at Tea, we want to give kids the world, to help them discover that no matter where we live or what our families look like, there is so much we all have in common. We travel to discover. To dream. To explore the wonder of the world around us, across the globe and across the street. Since 2002, we’ve traveled to far flung places, always inspired by the people we meet and the things we see. Wherever we go, from Bali to Norway, Morocco to Japan, we take in all we can and bring it back to our headquarters here in San Francisco to design globally-inspired clothing for all little citizens.
Over the past few months, you’ve met some of our newest friends from Australia and Austin. We love introducing them to you and today, we’re sharing profiles of the kids from our summer Austin photo shoot. All of the kids we met, in Australia and Austin, were funny, sweet and completely unique. We loved getting to know them, and thought you’d enjoy it too. So we asked everyone a few fun questions about sharks, seafood and what they want to be when they grow up. Here are their answers … with a little help from mom and dad. Without further ado, meet our Austin friends!
