Hi, I’m Helen and I am the Digital Marketing Coordinator here at Tea! In March, I spent a month working from and traveling around various cities in Spain and Italy! During my travels, I was able to visit so many amazing cities and see some incredible landmarks. Here I have complied a list of all my favorite places to visit in each city.
Madrid
- Catedral de Santa María la Real de la Almudena: Beautiful main church in Madrid dedicated to the city’s patron Saint
- Parque del Buen Retiro: One of the largest parks in the city, was owned by the spanish royal family and later became a public park and an UNESCO world heritage site along with the Paseo del Prado
- Semana Santa celebrations: Various cities in Spain are well known for their Easter time celebrations and people travel from all over to see the large processions, on Easter Madrid holds a drum ceremony throughout the streets called the Easter Tamborrada
- La Negra Tomasa: Cuban restaurant near Puerta del Sol known for their live music performances of blends of Cuban salsa, bachata, and son.
- Jardines de Sabatini: One of the gardens of the Palacio Real, perfect for watching the Madrid sunset
Cadiz
- Playa la Caleta: A cute and small beach in the city in between two castles in the old town of Cadiz “La Viña”, natural harbor that inspired many artists and musicians
- Street performer playing flamenco on guitar, very common to see all over this city
- Bus to Playa Santa Maria del Mar: larger well known beach in the more modern part of the city
- Flamenco show at Peña Flamenca La Perla de Cadiz: Huge part of culture in Spain and southern Spain especially, must see
- Last La Caleta Beach sunset!
Sevilla
- Plaza de Espana: Huge main plaza located within Parque de Maria Luisa, combining Moorish, Renaissance and Baroque architecture
Mallorca
- Platja de Cala Major: One of the many beaches throughout the island with turquoise blue waters
- Carrer de Sant Miquel shopping street: One of the shopping areas in Palma, the capital of the island
- Restaurante Ileta: Seafood restaurant on its own mini private island connected via bridge to Camp de Mar
Milan
- People watching from the top of the Duomo di Milano: Basilica-cathedral of Milan known for its gothic architectures and many statues carved into its exterior
Lake Como
- Views on the lake: Located against the foothills of the Alps, surrounded by lush mountains and renaissance inspired villages
