Every family has at least one recipe that has been passed down and perfected through generations. It’s the whole family’s favorite meal…just the smell of it brings back memories, and the first bite always feels like home. For Stella, that dish is Nonna’s pasta sauce. Stella, her mom (Alexis), dad (Rob) and brother (Marcel) traveled to Italy to learn more about their heritage and meet their extended family. While they were there, Nonna made her famous sauce with Stella, and shared the secret recipe with us.
This spring, we celebrate the arrival of warmer days and spring festivities with a collection of twirly dresses, bold graphics and adorable rompers that owe their inspiration to the gilded canals of Venice and the blooming gardens of Rome. With so much in store this spring, we want to give you a chance to win your 3 favorite new styles from Tea!
Venice is an otherworldly place. From the gilded gondolas and palaces that fill the Grand Canal to the architectural details of the buildings and footbridges connecting the city to its floating neighborhood islands. Venice thrives on mystery and awe. As you wander through the streets, it’s hard to miss the Venetian masks. These famous masks are a part the Carnival of Venice, an annual festival held in Venice typically held in February that marks the beginning of Lent. Similar events are held around the world, like Mardi Gras and Carnaval in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.
In 1953, Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn came together for an American romantic comedy that would later receive 7 awards. Roman Holiday brought the classic romance and elegance of Rome to people all over the world. The iconic mod styles Audrey Hepburn wears throughout the movie were a source of inspiration for our newest styles.
Italian life centers around la famiglia (family). It’s a culture of great tradition and strong bonds, even when family members live across the ocean. This spring, we celebrate that family heritage with a story of Tea’s photo producer, Alexis, who traveled to northern Italy so her children could meet their Italian relatives. Here, she shares her story of a trip that will forever live on in their hearts.
Here at Tea, we go there. We travel to discover. To dream. To connect. We want to open up the world for all little citizens – whether it’s exploring a new place or having a new experience in your neighborhood. This Spring, when it came to casting for our catalogs, we didn’t reach out to our usual agencies, instead… We reached out to our Bay area neighbors. We wanted to connect and meet our local little citizens. We wanted to give them the opportunity to have a new experience right here in their own city! We met some pretty adorable and imaginative kids, and today we’d like to introduce them to you! Meet a few of faces you’ll see in our catalogs this season.
