This summer, Tea families across the US are showing us around their cities and sharing the incredible places that make them special.
Next up in our Share Your City series, we say hello to sunny, sandy beaches and endless kid-friendly attractions. Come along as we go touring around Tampa with momtographer, Christina Jones, and her little crew. It’s summer and we love to explore our city, find new fun places to visit as a family and of course capture our adventures. As a momtographer, I love catching candid moments of my kiddos—seeing their reactions with new experiences and just enjoying the time we spend together.
We live in the Tampa Bay Area, where my husband Gary and I were both born and raised. We say we’ll move to another state just to have the experience, but we’ve lived here for pretty much our entire lives!
Tampa has a ton of history and is a beautiful city. So much has changed since we were kids. I’m so glad there are more family-friendly places to visit. I look forward to the weekend—I’m that mom who has a full itinerary planned! Here are some of our favorite local spots.
ZooTampa
We love our local zoo, ZooTampa at Lowry Park. There’s so much to do, so we have annual passes and visit at least twice a month. It has been updated recently, and there’s a new water ride opening soon that we can’t wait to try! It’s a great way for the kids to learn about animals, there’s a splash pad and of course rides.
Downtown Tampa
Our absolute favorite place to go on the weekend is downtown Tampa. There’s so much to do! One of our favorites is Curtis Hixon Park. It’s a fun place for the kids to play in the water and there are always events going on. Glazer Children’s Museum is also in the area, so of course the kids love going there. Tampa Riverwalk is also a fun destination—perfect for taking a nice walk, bike ride or playing in the wide open grassy areas.
Clearwater Beach
Florida is known for its beautiful beaches, and Tampa is no different. We love to go to Clearwater Beach, about 45 minutes from our house. There’s a pier, huge bounce houses… plenty of places for the kids to run around, and for us to lay back and relax.
