Hi! My name is Laura Lambrecht (LL) and I am part of the small and mighty Design Team at Tea where I work on everything from drawing tiny pockets and building seasonal color palettes to cost engineering new styles. Soup to nuts design ninja.
One of my favorite perks of the job is using the Tea Travel Allowance to see the world. Stepping out of the day-to-day and experiencing a different culture broadens my viewpoint and inspires my work. As an avid tourist, I take full advantage of the allowance and use every penny!
I ventured to Oaxaca City for a long weekend in February along with my husband and a good friend. Of course we took all the Covid precautions and, wow, it felt amazing to travel again! We were greeted by vibrant colors, delicious aromas, pottery with faces, sounds of singing and music echoing in the streets. It felt easy, friendly, safe and inspiring–the perfect post-pandemic destination.
There are so many different traditional arts and crafts produced in this area of Mexico. We could’ve easily spent two full weeks exploring both the city and outlying areas. The following is a list of the places most recommended by friends and spots we most enjoyed during our visit–hope you enjoy, too.
