This season, we decided to approach the baby portion of our catalog a bit differently. We wanted to capture the real moments. Those moments where mom sits quietly with baby… enjoying the calm before the day’s storm. The sibling moments, the details of tiny toes and curled fingers — The everyday magic that happens at home.
So, to make our dream come to life we reached out to Sarah Hebenstreit of Modern Kids Co to see if she’d be up for the job.
We didn’t want to fake it, so we looked to you — The families who already know and love Tea. We came across Karla Quiz (who happened to be a neighbor here in the Bay Area!) on Instagram and instantly fell in love with her two little girls, Fair James and France Fox.
Karla Quiz had recently launched James Fox Co., a company offering stylish, practical, hospital approved gowns for new moms. After Karla remained in the hospital longer than expected with each of her daughters she “wanted to create something that could serve both as a simple comfort in the midst of the unexpected or a quiet reminder that a mother is also a woman.”
Not only do we love that Karla’s fabrics are hand woven in India, but we were thrilled to hear that each gown gives back to mothers in need. The Quizes brother lives in Uganda and learned that women going into labor there must arrive at their local clinic with their own supplies – which they refer to as the “Maama Kit”. While the kit costs less than 10 USD, many women will never be able to afford it. So, Karla partnered with the GEM Foundation in Kampala, Uganda to help purchase and distribute “Maama Kits” to expectant mothers in need.
And we can’t forget about this guy! This is Isaac, cousin to Fair and France. We took their playdate as an opportunity to get him in a few of the newest Tea styles… and while we might be a little biased, we think he turned out to be the perfect little model!
