During their time together in Australia, our #teapenpals, Lu and Lara visited the Healesville Animal Sanctuary in Victoria, Australia. The sanctuary is a working health center for injured native Australian animals, a rehabilitation facility for those on the mend and a research center for conservation medicine. They offer many hands-on exhibits including observation bays where visitors can watch the vets at work as well as interactive exhibits for visitors to get an up close look at tons of native animals like parrots, dingos, pygmy-possoms, bilbies and more.
Lu and Lara spent a full day here, exploring, learning and playing vet. Here, we’re sharing a video from their time at the Future Vet station – a play space dedicated to inspiring kindness in kids through caring for animals in a mini wildlife hospital! They got to take x-rays of stuffed koalas and wombats, diagnose injuries and even bandage the little dingos up. How cool!?
